Weather for the week ahead - Monday 5th - Sunday 11th March 2012

Milder again but mainly unsettled until weekend

Rain lingering in the far east but mainly fine and dry with lighter winds but staying chilly with max temperatures of 10c

Any patchy light rain across thesoutheast of England this morning is expected to fade as it turned drier and brighter.Cloudier across Scotland as outbreaks of rain spread into western Scotland and Northern Ireland in the morning where it lingers into the afternoon. The rest of England and Wales will have a dry day with sunny spells but more cloud develops for the afternoon. Maximum temperatures of 8 to 10c

Heavy rain will affect southern Scotland and all of England and Wales in the morning. This rain then clears Eastern England in the afternoon, and as it does so it becomes colder with such showers across western and northern areas. These showers will be turning wintry from North Wales northwards. A number of snow showers will continue to affect western parts of Scotland but fading to few overnight. It will stay quite windy and turning cold tonight. Maximum temperatures today of 5 to 11c

Winds will tend to moderate today. Most of the country will have a dry morning with sunny spells with a few showers around north western coasts. In the afternoon. Some rain will move into northern Scotland with one or two showers across the southeast of England, otherwise continued dry. Tonight the far north west will keep somerain but for most places it'll be a dry night. Maximum temperatures of 7-10c

Confidence does decrease at this range but it looks like rain will clear Scotland and Northern Ireland to sunny spells. A wet day across England and Wales with spells of rain. Dry, clear and colder tonight. Highs of 9 to 12C. 

Overall a dry day for most areas with sunny spells. Some rain may affect northern Scotland and Northern Ireland. Dry and mostly clear tonight with fog and a frost. Highs of 8 to 11C. 

High pressure returns from the south on the weekend. There may be some dense fog to clear England and Wales in the morning otherwise a dry day across Britain with sunny spells. Maximum temperatures of 10 to 13C.
